Factory wiring mistake?

This is a connector for the G.I. on the insert panel. I wonder why this one pin burned up? It actually looks like a factory mistake, I can’t imagine why someone would do this since none of the other pins are burned.

Insert panel G.I. connector pin burned up due to a factory wiring defect.

I have seen situations where someone moved a wire to an unused pin due to a burned connector instead of repairing the connectors as may need to be done in the field from time to time.

Correct pinout for insert panel G.I. connector.

Now the game is in the shop I’ll replace the connectors and do a proper repair.

Connector repaired with new housing and .156 Molex Trifurcon pins.
New G.I. connectors and header pins installed on the interconnect board.
